Your Itinerary

Day 1: Montreal – Kuujjuaq – Barnoin Ecolodge. † Upon arrival at Barnoin, the manager-owner will welcome you with a cocktail and overview of your upcoming itinerary. Afternoon hike to take in the subarctic tundra. Dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge.

Day 2: Safari photos polar bears. † The morning begins with a flight over the lost islands at sea. You will try to spot polar bears, seals, walruses and whales. We will stop near the sea to photograph polar bears in their natural habitat. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Iceberg and the Labrador fjord. † Today you’ll enjoy a scenic flight along the Labrador coast in search of iceberg and the Arctic’s most iconic creatures – polar bears, seals, walruses and whales. Take a lunch and enjoy the view from a lake in overhang of a fjord and make a short hike to the summit on a lunar landscape. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Polar bear and iceberg at the continents land’s end. † In the morning, fly away to the northeast extremity of North America and discover the landscapes at the land’s end. We’ll stop in various places to take refreshing hikes ashore and to observe bears. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 5: Nachvak fjord. †  In the morning, you will explore one of the most impressive fjords of the Torgats Mountains national park in Labrador. Also discover striking waterfalls, gorges and archeological sites. Down from cliffs observe polar bears, seals and whales. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 6: Caribou, wolves and tundra dwelling black bears. † Today we’ll visit a variety of wildlife habitats; wolf dens, calving grounds of the George River caribou herd and a glaciated valley where lives a unique species of tundra dwelling black bear. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 7: Return Trip. Breakfast at the Lodge.

The suggested tour is a general example and may be modified upon request. The itinerary is flexible based on local conditions and may occasionally occur in reverse order. Bushland flights are often subject to last-minute change depending on weather conditions, in which case the itinerary will be adapted to the best possible alternative. 2% discount for payment by cheque.

The Barnoin Ecolodge is situated in Arctic Quebec “Nunavik” 1,500 km north of Montreal and 165 km east of Kuujjuaq. Ungava Bay is located less than 40 km north of the camp.  Three (3) km east of Barnoin you’ll find Kuururjuaq Park and 50 km further to the East the Torngat Mountain National Park of Canada. It’s from Barnoin that you’ll fly out to experience authentic wildlife experiences.
