Your Itinerary
Day 1: Montreal – Kuujjuaq – Barnoin Ecolodge. Upon arrival at Barnoin Ecolodge, the manager-owner will welcome you with a cocktail and overview of your upcoming itinerary. Afternoon trek to take in the subarctic tundra. Dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge.
Days 2 and 3: East Coast of Ungava. The morning starts with an air safari along the East coast of Ungava Bay, flying over wonderful rivers, waterfalls and icebergs. We will touch down at a variety of spots bordering the sea to watch the polar bears. At day’s end, we’ll set up our bivouac at the edge of a magnificent lake right in the heart of the Torngat Mountains. The next day, we’ll make a morning excursion to explore the valley of the dunes. This valley lies in stark contrast to the rugged mountains surrounding it and it’s a great place to find wolves, foxes, tundra dwelling black bears and caribous. At the end of the day, sit back and relax around a campfire and enjoy the sounds of nature around you. Overnight in bivouac.
Days 4 and 5: The continent land’s end. After breakfast, we’ll fly-out to Killineq at the continent land’s end (the far north-eastern tip of North America). Killineq is in a wilderness area of great beauty to explore and marine wildlife is abundant. At the end of the day watch the sunset over the mountains, make a campfire, enjoy a glass of wine and a fine meal. Overnight in bivouac The next day we’ll take the breakfast in the heart of the tundra and fly-out to explore some of the most imposing fjords in North America. We’ll touch down to explore impressive waterfalls, rocky chimneys, glaciers and archaeological sites. Overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 6: Walk with the caribou. Early July is the best time for viewing the summer caribou migration. The first sight of the long processions of caribou stretching several kilometers will leave you totally amazed, and a walking safari in this exceptional place is unforgettable. After a long winter, thousands of caribou return to give birth on the George River plateau. Overnight stay at the Lodge.
Day 7: Return Trip. Breakfast at the Lodge.

Informal accommodations in tents will be adapted according to weather conditions. The itinerary is flexible based on local conditions and may occasionally occur in reverse order. Bushland flights are often subject to last-minute change depending on weather conditions, in which case the itinerary will be adapted to the best possible alternative. 2% discount for payment by cheque.
The Barnoin Ecolodge is situated in Arctic Quebec “Nunavik” 1,500 km north of Montreal and 165 km east of Kuujjuaq. Ungava Bay is located less than 40 km north of the camp. Three (3) km east of Barnoin you’ll find Kuururjuaq Park and 50 km further to the East the Torngat Mountain National Park of Canada. It’s from Barnoin that you’ll fly out to experience authentic wildlife experiences.
