Climbing Mount d’Iberville and Caubvick can be an exalting experience but also require a good planning, good climbing skills and a bit of luck with the weather. Getting to The Torngat Mountains is easier than ever are closer that you may think. In fact, you could be there tomorrow. The quickest and easiest way to get to d’Iberville is to book a direct flight with us from Montreal-Kuujjuaq-Kangiqsualujjuaq (George River). From this small Inuit community a float planes will pick you up for the twenty minute flight to Barnoin River Lodge. D’Iberville is now at only .35 minutes away from Barnoin.
If the weather is good in the Torngat Mountains, then we fly you directly to a small mountain lake a few km east of d’Iberville. Accessing the mountain main peaks from this small lake normally require a minimum of three days to go up and two days to go down.
If you didn’t have the goods flying weather conditions when you arrived at Barnoin River Lodge, then you wait until the weather clears up do a bit of exploration. There are great hikes to be done from the lodge. Visit the highest waterfall in Nunavik, explore the river canyon, hike the barren mountain tops, canoe, kayak or even go fishing.
