The East Ungava Arctic Char Rivers

River_R001

Between the 59th and 60th parallel the Quebec’s East Ungava Bay hold some of the best arctic char rivers that you could find in Canada. These great watershed hold char up to 15+ pounds and include the Baudoncourt, Abrat (Weymouth), Sanirarsiq (Gregson) and Sapoukai. These four rivers are under Rapid Lake Lodge’s outfitter licence.

Fishing arctic char in these rivers requires the Quebec provincial fishing licence and the categories II (Cat. II native lands) fishing licences. Rapid Lake Lodge has all those fishing licences available at the lodge.

The annual fees per fishermen for these licenses are based on sport fishing location: Baudoncourt: 75. $, Abrat (Weymouth): 50. $, Sanirarsiq (Gregson): 50. $ and Sapoukai: 50. $

Each of these rivers and tributaries have their own unique characteristics particularly suited to fly fishing.
