The fishing season is now over

The summer 2012 was the warmest ever recorded in arctic Quebec. All through the season the rain was very limited and the rivers were low and warm. During most of our fishing weeks we were limited to fish at the bottom of deep chutes and in river pools near the sea. Despite these particular conditions the arctic char fishing season was excellent. Many 10 to 12 pounds fresh sea run arctic char has been caught and some occasional 15 -16 pounders. The red chars were only in good numbers during the last open week. The rain of the past days has raised the rivers by nearly two feet and most fish are now in their spawning stream.
