Your Itinerary

Day 1: Montreal – Kuujjuaq – Kangiqsualujjuaq (Georges River)/Barnoin Ecolodge. † Upon arrival at Barnoin Ecolodge, the manager-owner will welcome you with a cocktail, followed by the presentation of your upcoming itinerary and the preparation of your material for the next day flight to Nachvak Fjord. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 2: Floatplane flight between Barnoin Ecolodge and Nachvak Fjord. † Early in the morning, a floatplane will pick you up for a scenic flight to Nachvak Fjord. Your floatplane will land on Nachvak Fjord at the mouth of the McCormick River, 15 km of Mount d’Iberville. At nightfall, watch the aurora borealis. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 3 to 8: Climb Mount Iberville. † The ascent which we propose you is made from the  McCormick River. You will access the summit by the Minaret Ridge, which is situated on the East side is of Mount d’Iberville. The ascent does not present great technical difficulty, but favourable weather conditions and good mountain climbing skills are recommended to carry out this expedition safely. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 9: Return flight to Barnoin Ecolodge. † During the day a floatplane will pick you up at the mouth of the McCormick River to return you to Barnoin Ecolodge. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 10: Return trip† Lunch at the lodge.

Keep in Mind

Our objective is to facilitate your familiarity with the most spectacular spots, providing you with the maximum amount of information possible about a given area. Use the proposed itinerary as inspiration for planning a do-it-yourself trip. Nevertheless, it’s up to you to design your tour itinerary and prepare your gear, based on your preferences, budget, level of comfort and fitness. We will not add you to an existing group. Bushland flights are often subject to last-minute change depending on weather conditions, in which case arrival and departure dates to and from Barnoin Camp as well as landing sites will be adapted to the best possible alternative. The list price for this trip is based on double occupancy. 2% discount for payment by cheque.

The camp at Barnoin River is situated in Arctic Quebec, 1,500 km north of Montreal and 165 km East of Kuujjuaq. The Mount D’Iberville is located less than 120 km East of Barnoin camp.
